She rationalized her blame so effectively that she was left with no reason for his departure. Her lies and excuses, flirtations and yes, affairs, were so above reproach there was nothing left to blame but him. “You aren’t coming back are you?” She folded her arms and posed as if he should be surprised at her revelation. He stopped in the open doorway and looked at her. “I don’t know,” he said finally. “I don’t know.” He wished there was a way. He knew there was not. He knew that her ramblings about wanting more out of life had made him think about the same things. He closed the door.
