| Speaking of Icons; today is the birthday of Bettie Page; the greatest Pin-Up of all time. The mystique of her influence and style, her look, thrives today. She had more magazine appearances than Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford combined according to the fine book on her life by Karen Essex and James L. Swanson. At the height of her career she disappeared. She lives in anonymity and seclusion today (April 22, 2007) at age 84.
