Musical Monday - Buddy Holly

Today in 1936 Buddy Holly was born.

He died in a plane crash February 3, 1959(aged 22)near Clear Lake, Iowa, U.S.

Don McLean's lyric "...The day the music died ..." is about Buddy Holly, not Marilyn Manson.

Buddy Holly helped make rock music respectable. It is also important to ponder that without Buddy Holly and the Crickets, there probably would have been no group called the Beatles.

Did you know that Buddy Holly records sit on the record shelf with Billie Holiday and the Hollies on the left? Homer and Jethro and John Lee Hooker are on the right.

You may have one of these maybe, but not both.
