Baxter Black From The Balcony.
|
Baxter Black, Cowboy Poet and Small Animal Veterinarian visited our auditorium last Saturday night. It was a treat for us. The floor seats seemed a little dear for us so we sat in the balcony.
The auditorium acoustics allowed me to miss a few words here and there but all in all I caught most of the humor and rhyme. I decided he was more a stand up comedian than a poet. Annie found he was much older than she expected.
After nearly two hours on stage, he sat on a table in the foyer of the auditorium and autographed programs, his books and CDs, chatted, shook hands with the men and hugged all the women.
The program was brought to our city by the local Lions club. The president of the Lions Club designed the fliers and the tickets. I know her personally.
